Reduce single-use plastic

Single-use plastics is a growing problem. According to a study by WWF, holidaymakers in the Mediterranean Sea every summer cause a 40 percent surge in marine litter, 95 percent of it is plastic. Tourism sector has a big role to play in reducing waste.

We were asked by Travel Without Plastic and Turismo Portugal to develop a guidance for tour operators on how to reduce single-use plastics. The guide we created in collaboration with Travel Without Plastic was a set of practical and easy to implement solutions for eliminating single-use plastics in the office and during tours, how to motivate staff and guides and how to engage customers and suppliers.  The guide was launched during a webinar for tourism stakeholders.
